Who they support

We support long-term bursaries and in-kind commitments to educational institutions to help students who benefit from financial assistance, and students who benefit from mentoring and work experience opportunities. We support the preservation of churches we have an historic link with. For our open grants, we support charities that improve the quality of life for people and communities. We fund core costs and new or existing projects or programmes. Environment & Climate Change is a funding focus to the end of 2022.

Grant criteria

As a small grant awarding body, our mission is to invest in and support a broad range of small and medium sized UK registered charities which together make a demonstrable positive impact on public benefit. Grantees have been from areas including: - Relief of Poverty - The Elderly - Disability - Health - Military - Heritage & The Arts - Environment - Children & Young People

The Grocers’ Charity typically provides one-off grants up to £5,000 for U.K. registered charities working in the areas outlined below. Please follow the links to read the specific criteria for each. Read the information below for funding exclusions and the two-stage application process including submission deadlines. Applications will NOT be considered from: Places of worship; Educational establishments (schools, colleges, universities); Individuals; Charities whose beneficiaries are overseas; Non-UK registered charities (not regulated by the Charity Commission); Charities with a turnover of over £500,000, except for Health/Medical Charities (up to £15m turnover).
