FRIENDS AND PLACES TOGETHER

We are based in Southend and our services were formed and piloted in Southend on Sea with funding from Southend Borough Council. The aim of Friends and Places Together is to seek friendships for isolated and vulnerable people within our community. Primarily we offer support to young people from 13 to 25 years old but we have had many requests to support older people.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • The charity has received backing from several prominent grant makers recently
  • There have been no material income shortfalls in recent years

  • The Board composition appears to be rather static

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • Spending has fallen significantly over the last 5 years relative to the previous period
  • Income has been volatile recently
