"The Armed Forces Covenant aims to: 1) the Armed Forces Covenant defines the enduring, general principles that should govern the relationship between the Nation, the Government and the Armed Forces community. 2) It aims to encourage all parties within a community to offer support to the local Armed Forces community and make it easier for Service personnel, families and veterans to access the help and support available from the MOD, from statutory providers and from the Charitable and Voluntary Sector. These organisations already work together in partnership at local level. 3) the scheme is intended to be a two-way arrangement and the Armed Forces community are encouraged to do as much as they can to support their community and promote activity which integrates the Service community into civilian life. "

The funding will be used to deliver a bespoke child therapy programme to children who have one or both parents serving in the British Armed Forces. The charity provides support to children with one or both parents serving in the British Armed Forces (regular or reserve). The children of services personnel face unique daily challenges as a consequence of a parent serving in the military including frequent house and school moves and regular periods of separation from their parent/s. The organisation was set up to address these issues and they currently offer two programmes of work ‘Little Troopers at Home’ and ‘Little Troopers at School’. ‘Little Troopers at Home’ provides resources and information that parents of military children can access online or through correspondence with the organisation. They also provide a range of resources and activities for children directly. ‘Little Trooper at School’ is to provide support to schools to allow them to better support the children of military families.
