This funding will support Christian Action Resource Enterprise (CARE) to continue to support people facing hardship who are homeless or in inadequate homes within some of the most deprived postcodes around Grimsby Immingham in North East Lincolnshire. The user-led approach will help build resilience improve health and wellbeing and mitigate the negative impacts of being homeless or in poor housing allowing the best support at a pace that creates lasting change.

CARE provides deposit free private rented properties to people on low incomes who are homeless, facing homelessness or badly housed. The project is operated from Grimsby, across North East Lincolnshire, a Local Authority within the top 10% nationally of the Indices of multiple deprivation 2015. Financial barriers to accessing private and social housing are high. CARE work in partnership with private landlords who house vulnerable people deposit free through a £500 guarantee bond from CARE for the first year of the tenancy. We set up tenancies, benefits, utilities and provide 1:1 support. We also give housing advice and guidance to the wider public. Funding is being sought for the continuation of our housing and support project.
