THE PILGRIM TRUST

Who they support

The Pilgrim Trust runs two grant programmes that you can apply to: Preservation and Scholarship and Young Women’s Mental Health.

Grant criteria

We support the urgent and future needs of the UK. Each year we give approximately £3 million to charities and other public bodies that work on preserving the UK’s heritage or catalysing social change.

Grant details

Young Women’s Mental Health We have a two-stage process for applications. Grants of £60,000 to £90,000 spread across three years are available. Our aim is to improve the mental health of young women (16-25) in the UK through increasing their access to high quality, age and gender specific mental health services. The programme supports charities that develop and deliver best practice, offer services that focus on the whole person, are age and gender informed and strive for substantive equality. This replaces our previous Social Welfare fund. Preservation and Scholarship fund We make grants available through one of two schemes, the Main Grant Fund and the Small Grant Fund. The Main Grant Fund is our primary grant outlet and distributes approximately 90% of our annual grant budget. If your project fits our funding criteria, you can apply for sums above £5,000 through this scheme. The Small Grant Fund is reserved for requests of £5,000 or less. We give grants to charities and public bodies that preserve the fabric of historically important buildings, conserve significant collections and promote knowledge through academic research. We give particular consideration to: -Preservation of, and repairs to, buildings or architectural features of outstanding architectural or historic importance particularly those at risk -Conservation of important artefacts and collections -Promotion of knowledge and its dissemination through academic research within institutions where historic, scientific or archaeological records are preserved.
