Easter, Summer & Christmas activities will be provided, with sports, games, arts, music etc with food provision.

Our creative arts project will bring diverse groups of young women together, digitally at first and then face-to-face, to offer peer support, learn from each other, and create an art exhibition.

The project will support young women aged 15-18 struggling with the effects of the pandemic on their mental health through 1-1 support and peer support groups.

This two-year project brings together younger and older women living in Harehills on a weekly basis, with the aim of building connections, understanding and cultural awareness whilst developing social action projects that will strengthen their community. The women participating come from a very diverse range of backgrounds and attend sessions that are focused on sharing ideas and skills, participating in further training to build capacity, and working together to create lasting change. Participants can be part of monthly 'voice and influence' sessions, that enable them to shape the project as it develops and maintain ownership.

Getaway Girls supports vulnerable young women in Leeds that have been affected by crime, drug abuse, sexual exploitation and human trafficking. The women it supports come from some of the most disadvantaged areas in the country. Through a variety of different volunteer-led programmes, it helps women overcome trauma, organise their accommodation and finances, build confidence and establish support networks. Many of the charity's volunteers are women who have been through one of its programmes. The Fore funded Getaway Girls to allow the CEO to move from front-line work to focus on scaling and strategy.This will enable Getaway Girls to expand its programme, shrinking the current waiting list for its services and expand its reach across Leeds.

Outcome 1 50 young women will build confidence, develop awareness of ways of keeping themselves safe from sexual exploitation. Outcome 2 50 young women at risk of sexual exploitation will increase their confidence and emotional resilience Outcome 3 50 young women at risk of sexual exploitation will have opportunities to raise their aspirations through a balanced programme offering support, challenge and fun The project focuses on prevention / early intervention work re sexual exploitation. Through Individual support, Preventative group work focusing on Protective Behaviours, Outreach/ detached mobile support young women will have the opportunity to explore keeping themselves safe. The project uses a range of effective methods to build confidence and emotional resilience mentioned in Alice Muir Research. These include Listening and acceptance, providing positive feedback, positive self talk, self esteem moments, assertiveness training, problem solving, modelling, mentoring and working in peer groups Young women are referred to the project are assessed using the Leeds Safeguarding Board Matrix of Need. Young women who are assessed as Low to Medium are accepted by the project so the focus is early intervention. The support work focusses on keeping themselves safe from sexual exploitation including discussing the specific situations where they were / are at risk, Internet Safety, Grooming, older boyfriends and gifts, healthy and unhealthy relationships. The Preventative group work is for groups of targeted young women. The Protective Behaviours group work includes the Right to Feel Safe, healthy and unhealthy relationships, taking risks, internet safety, grooming,early warning signs, alcohol and risk taking, keeping safe. The outreach/ detached / mobile work reached young women who are not known to other services and builds relationships to offer risk reduction support and referral for Individual support and group work
