Build skills and confidence Group sessions are activity based and require users to lend of their skills to others to complete a project (e.g. choreographing a song/dance where each YP plays a different role), building both their skills and their confidence through the knowledge that they play a vital role and are needed as part of a team. As many in the team will be struggling with similar issues, users who are shy/unconfident will feel accepted and normal and encouraged to give things a go. We will encourage group support. Improve health and wellbeing Group sessions will bring together isolated teens who are struggling with their own emotional/mental health, providing acceptance, understanding and the new-found knowledge that they are not alone, hugely empowering their emotional resilience and general happiness. Through sharing experiences and learning what has been helpful for their peers, users will feel encouraged to improve their own health and wellbeing both physically (e.g. empowered to tackle obesity) and emotionally (empowered to attend therapy sessions). Build social networks for women and girls - Group mentoring sessions are structured to give users a chance to interact with others & safely test their social & relationship skills. Guided facilitator and peer feedback will aid their social inclusion, & support use of these new long-term skills outside of the group parameters.
