With the young people we are also developing a Mental Health Champion Campaign where we will train champions to work with their schools to positively support teens mental health. We are seeking funding for a part time Young Persons counsellor to work within our premises and in schools and Cheshire College Crewe to offer person Centred counselling. The impact of the counselling will be: To offer Young Women a safe space to reflect on their current situations To help support Young Women to better manage their mental health To reduce loneliness and isolation For the Young Women to better understand the vulnerable situation that they sometimes find themselves in. Ultimately the Inspire Project is to "Inspire" all the Young Women that we support, and a counsellor offering a non judgemental space is crucial to the women that we support.

We are looking at covering costs for a new service that we want to develop in response to the current Covid 19 virus. We want to help support expectant/new mums, with both practical and emotional support at such a life changing time. Since the current Covid 19 outbreak we have had an increase in referral from women expectant or just had children. This cohort of mums is currently classed as vulnerable in the current outbreak, many of the mums very scared at the moment, of what the future holds and feeling very isolated, with their support networks not being able to support them. For the geographical areas that we work in some of the mums are struggling financially and we want to be able to support them with signposting to local support and take away any of the stresses that they maybe experiencing at this special time. A new group of women that have been contacting us is mums in the rural areas of Cheshire that feel isolated. We will also support the mums emotionally and help support their mental health both antenatal and postnatal. This service has been developed by working with the midwife team at Leighton hospital.

This project aims to provide support for women who have had a child removed from their care, empowering them to build a more positive future for themselves and to support those mums transitioning from care who are struggling to adapt to motherhood. Mums who are on the verge of having their children removed and those who have had their children removed can be subject to a variety of mental health issues not currently being considered or addressed in this area before this project – we want to offer them support and an intervention that breaks the potential of the cycle to be repeated. This grant will be used to fund a project co-ordinator who will representation mum, act as an intermediary between mum and social workers, solicitors and other agencies and provide emotional and practical support. The project aims to show that there are positive choices and options for them going forward, we are supporting and encouraging participants to be empowered, utilise links within their local community and to develop tools that help with self-reliance, self-esteem and confidence and to develop their voice thus breaking the cycle of having children who potentially will be removed again.
