They have a target of 40 volunteers across the town who in turn will work with 400 individuals and families over the two-year project, engaging them in multiple activities. This works out at £2,374 per volunteer. Literacy Champions are local people trained to co-design and deliver fun, exciting, and original literacy development projects in their community.
