The wider aim of the scheme is: We are the national development agency for creativity and culture. By 2030 we want England to be a country in which the creativity of each of us is valued and given the chance to flourish and where everyone of us has access to a remarkable range of high quality cultural experiences. Between 2018 and 2022, we will invest £1.45 billion of public money from government and an estimated £860 million from the National Lottery to help deliver this vision.

Opened in 1970, the Young Vic is one of London's most innovative and inclusive producing theatres. PHF is supporting Growing Communities, a new progrmme which will see the Young Vic engaging with the most hard to reach communities in Lambeth and Southwark. Groups such as full-time carers, refugees and homeless people will have the opportunity to become deeply involved in the theatre, including making work for the main stage. Growing Communities will provide access to the arts for those who face significant barriers and the Young Vic stage will provide a platform for their voices to be heard.
