Funding selected organisations and projects in community development, environmental, sustainable development, health & welfare and culture all with an emphasis on education and raising awareness and generally, but not exclusively, in or for the benefit of the north east of England

Grant criteria

We are a family foundation making grants in Tyne, Wear and Northumberland; York; Harrogate; Greater Manchester and The City of Bradford. The Shears Foundation strategically supports a number of core charitable organisations that we have built a long term relationship with and income less than £1.5m. In addition, we have a small grants programme where you can apply for anything between £2,750 and £5,750.
