This includes working with other groups to provide creative and wellbeing activities counselling and mental health support with the aim of reducing isolation and improve wellbeing.

The funding will be used to fund kinship carers who are raising their grandchildren or a relative or friends’ child to learn basic cookery skills for those individuals who cannot live with their birth parents. These children have suffered parental substance misuse poor mental health or death of a parent but sometimes it’s because the children have been abused or neglected by their parents and they have been removed by the Local Authority to keep them safe. Almost all the children in care who use our service live in poverty with many of the children not able to tell what healthy food is in their diets. The funding will enable ingredients to be purchased to provide cookery sessions and to help upskill kinship families and children the service supports.
