This two-year project provided a weekly social group for older residents living in South Belmont. The idea developed following a project funded by the Trust in North Belmont. It aimed to tackle loneliness by bringing older residents together for informal socialising, group discussions and tasks, supported by an expert counsellor. Participants were residents aged 65 years and over who were experiencing social isolation, and in many cases bereavement. A steering group of residents led the project. The project aimed to build social connections between the residents, within the wider community.
