This is grant is to develop a project enabling parents with young children on low incomes to buy fresh fruit and vegetables, while developing the skills and confidence to cook with them. As well as improving health, this has the added benefit of increasing custom at markets, as this is where vouchers are redeemed. The vouchers are currently distributed through Children’s Centres in Hackney, Woolwich and Lambeth. The development phase will involve research and engagement work to roll out the scheme.
