Conflict in the home can affect many areas of a child’s life including school attendance, educational attainment and antisocial behaviour. This is the continuation of an existing project to provide a free, impartial short-term mediation service to under-16s and their families, with the aim of conflict resolution and prevention of family breakdown and homelessness of young people. The project currently serves seven areas in Hertfordshire (North Herts, Stevenage, Welwyn Hatfield, East Herts, Broxbourne, St Albans and Hertsmere) and will be expanded to serve the whole county.
