The focus of the activity will be on three key areas;Increasing awareness of peer support;Engaging and building confidence and capacity of local women to be involved in peer support;Bringing individuals and groups together to create momentum and share learning and experience.Stakeholders in our area include;Womens voluntary organisations such as Eva in RedcarMental health voluntary organisations such as STAMP, an advocacy organisationWider voluntary organisation such as Recovery Connections for people affected by substance useStatutory organisations including the TEWV Mental Health TrustCommissioners - including local authorities, NHS and Police and Crime CommissionersThere arent any networks of womens peer support on Teesside so this work will be new. However it will build on the experience of M&S Mind which ran the Side by Side Peer Support Hub and include a number of womens groups involved in this. The hub will increase access to womens peer support locally by promoting the direct delivery project the partners wish to deliver through a large grant application. It will also work closely with any other grant applicants who are successful with delivery applications. The hub will provide peer support training as a practical way to stimulate peer support activity and gather momentum for involvement in the hub activity across Teesside. The hub will co-design 4 learning and capacity events during the 12 months with women involved in peer support, to be held across different Boroughs in Teesside.

The project will provide Peer Support opportunities for women accessing My Sisters Place and Arch North East support and therapeutic services. With the support of the Peer Support Hub we will establish a Peer Support Group within each organisation which will be peer led and survivor focused. The group(s) will be co-designed by beneficiaries of each service with the support of the Peer Support Hub Co-Ordinator.In addition we will explore the use of technology in providing peer support through use of existing resources such as organisations websites to include a members area or self help toolkits. We will develop a peer support offer based on the ideas our beneficiaries have put forward and explore their ideas to include the delivery of;Peer Support Groups; One to One Peer Support - this would be in the form of volunteering opportunities to support women who are attending court for various criminal and legal hearings where appropriate, attend appointments with women or support them to engage in peer support groups. We will provide training through our organisations and the Peer Support Hub such as development training, trauma informed approaches and boundary setting;Social Activities - we will support women involved in peer support to attend and access new and existing social activities such as involvement in sports, creative activities and education/leaning activities.
