The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust' vision is that young people, are healthy, confident and can determine and achieve their own aspirations and to ‘get lives on track’, and uniquely, harness the skills and life experience of a team of sporting champions to motivate and inspire the young people they work with. The project, Get on Track aims to enhance young people’s engagement in Sport, Training, Education and Volunteering; with the ultimate goal of getting young people into sustained employment. The programme exists to improve life chances for young people on the margins of society, and helps them to be more prepared and ready for work, life and/or society by enhancing the skills, knowledge, attitude, aspiration and emotional capabilities. The funding will contribute to the operational costs and provide some bursary funding to the young people towards further certification and mentoring, designed to continue engagement.
