This project aims to reduce isolation, improve wellbeing and increase access to services for refugees and asylum seekers through a befriending project using local volunteers. Volunteers will be fully trained and then matched to a client to provide help such as introducing them to leisure activities, places of worship, social events and support groups. The befriending process usually lasts around nine months but this project will be able to expand this time, in cases where it is appropriate and needed.
