Objectives

I) TO PROMOTE THE RELIEF OF DISABLED PEOPLE AND THEIR INTEGRATION INTO SOCIETY, OPERATING WITHIN THE CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, THE COUNTIES OF CUMBRIA, NORTHUMBERLAND, DURHAM, TYNE AND WEAR AND AREAS ADJACENT THERETO. II) TO PROVIDE DISABLED PEOPLE WITH THE SUPPORT THEY REQUIRE BY ADDRESSING THE DISADVANTAGE OR RESTRICTION OF ACTIVITY CAUSED BY SOCIAL ATTITUDES AND ENVIRONMENTAL BARRIERS. IN THIS MEMORANDUM THE WORDS "DISABLED PEOPLE" INCLUDE PEOPLE WHO HAVE A PHYSICAL, SENSORY OR MENTAL IMPAIRMENT III) TO PROMOTE AND SUPPORT RESEARCH AND SURVEYS IN SOCIAL WELFARE ISSUES RELATED TO DISABLED PEOPLE AND TO PUBLISH THE RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH
