This project will offer regular rides, in a safe all-Muslim women environment, through their model of community cycle groups, led by trained female volunteers and will enable inactive / not very active Muslim women. Delivery will be run weekly offering accessible beginner/intermediate rides with free bikes borrowed by their local councils and established partnerships, run by trained volunteers. The organisation will run a four-week personal cycling challenge promoting independent cycling where participants choose a miles target and are supported/motivated throughout including weekly themes and prizes. The project will be promoted by reaching out to new participants in local schools, madrasahs, mosques, community organisations including trialling regular “meet our Ride Leaders” drop-in sessions.

The project is using funding to expand the provision of cycling sessions for Muslim women further across London through the development of a training toolkit to support the establishment of local cycling groups. Funding will go towards the establishment of a new online toolkit to grow their internal capacity and train female Muslim cycling instructors so there is support for beginner cyclists too. The project aims to inspire and enable Muslim women to cycle and subsequently access the health wellbeing and social benefits of regular exercise and cycling.
