The funding will be used to provide adaptations to the organisation's activity hub to improve accessibility as well as adapting their website to improve communications for their members who include people with disabilities. It will also help to run a series of focus groups with disabled people families and carers to explore transport barriers that disabled people face when trying to access community services with the aim of providing solutions and more accessible services to people who face barriers to inclusion.

The funding will support the Time Out Group (TOG) to continue providing educational wellbeing and social activities for adults with learning disabilities and support for parents and carers. This project will encourage disabled adults to become more independent provide employment/education opportunities reduce social isolation support access to local services and integration into the local community whilst raising awareness of learning disabilities/Autism among members of the public.

We are Time Out Group (North West) and we provide supported educational, cultural, active and wellbeing activities for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. Together Time will deliver 50 full day mental health and wellbeing sessions for 20 individuals; each week to include half a day in a creative workshop, exploring emotions and learning how to cope with them, followed by half a day of active and mindful activities such as gardening with local community garden and allotment groups. Ad-hoc 1-2-1 counselling will be made available to those members identified as requiring further support. This grant funding will contribute to salary costs for the Mental Health Support Worker, Counsellor, Support Staff and venue running costs. The difference this will make to the attendees will be improved confidence and resilience, increased ability to cope with challenging emotions, learning to work as a team, improvements in behaviour and understanding of others, increased connection to their local community, increased activity levels and learning new practical skills.

Time Out Group (North West) provides a range of activities and support for adults with learning disabilities. The project will provide a courtyard garden and mental mental health support for 35 individuals. The funding would pay for materials to convert their concrete yard into a pleasant, convenient, easy to access, Covid safe and private outdoor area, in which people can relax and unwind. It will also contribute towards the salary of a Mental Health Worker. The refurbished courtyard will provide an area in which the Mental Health Worker will be able to offer one to one and group support to members to help them tackle their mental health issues arising from the pandemic whilst offering a safe space in which people will be able to relax as they slowly reintegrate.
