OUTCOME 1 -Build women's life skills and confidence by educating and informing them on their rights, on k how & where to seek the support they are entitled to and in many cases feel safer and confident enough to know how to challenge when they are denied rights. Key themes are decided by the women in first session but also based on the most regular issues raised for advice in past WAST drop ins including: Rights within the asylum system, Rights to Safety from gender based violence & the law/ police, Rights re Housing & homelessness, Rights re Children's issues & as parents,. Rights re Health care & & access to physical & mental health care. Each of the themes will have individual outcomes ; eg : women will be; Less stressed with better understanding of the asylum process Safer & more confident in the community & in relationships Able to improve housing conditions & access emergency accommodation. Understand education process and parenting expectations Confident to access health care in emergencies Outcome 2 Women become informed and confident of their rights, and entitlement to services so they are more able to tackle problems together in key areas of their lives, leading to improved physical & mental well being, reducing isolation, gaining self worth, feeling respected & all leading to greater confident Outcome 3 Peer mentors will build up skills and confidence, in training & supporting others, leading groups, public speaking, awareness raising & sign posting.
