A self-defence Capoeira project for 80 girls and young women. It will provide four classes per week involving two weekly self-defence sessions (1 x girls 12-17 and 1 x young women 18-25 and two weekly yoga 1 x girls 12-17 and 1 x young women 18-25). It will include volunteer expenses, a lead and assistant coach with self-funded equipment, staff costs, facility hire and associated promotion and publicity, The aim is to improve mental and physical wellbeing by building relationships and trust between young girls from different background to reduce language barriers, loneliness and prejudice. Also, to gain new skills, raise confidence, contribute to environmental sustainability and divert from local gang culture or youth crime.

Funding was provided towards an educational and social inclusion programme for disadvantaged young people.

This project is aimed at girls and women aged 12-25 from BAME groups, disadvantaged backgrounds, low income and those at risk of offending or social inclusion. The project would run yoga and self defence classes for these participants, with the self defence lessons taking the form of capoeira. The project will run for 4 months, with 4 weekly sessions; two self defence sessions (one for girls 12-17, one for young women 18-25) and two weekly yoga sessions (one for girls 12-17, one for young women 18-25), 64 sessions in total x 1 hour.

This project will run a social inclusion programme in Southwark, offering acrobatics, dances and Capoeira to two groups - 4-11 year olds and 12-16 year olds targeting participants from disadvantaged backgrounds, low income, recent migrants, unemployed and members of the community that are at risk of social exclusion and that in general carry sedentary lifestyles.

Funding was provided to cover coaches' fees to deliver the capoeira sessions.

Our project facilitates the inclusion of young, disadvantaged people by keeping them off the streets and away from gang formation. We aim to guide young people towards their educational development.

This project will teach capoeira to girls in two age groups - 16-19 and 20-25, helping their mental and physical well being as well as community integration.

Our goal is to deliver a social inclusion project with children and young people, in which Capoeira will be the tool for the integration in the community and their skills' development. The activities will take place in Elephant and Castle, Sothwark. We will run 12 weeks of projects, with sessions twice a week for children ages 5-12 and young people 13-19. We will be working with children and young people that come from low income, families that are unemployed, BAME groups, are at risk of social exclusion,offending or are NEET. The prospective project participants come from disadvantaged backgrounds, low income, recent migrants, do not speak English very well, are unemployed, young people subjected to neglect and abuse. They are also members of the community that are at risk of social exclusion and that in general carry sedentary lifestyles. With the low income as common denominator, the majority of the project participants would not be able to participate in activities like the ones we run. Our goal is that the young people can improve their quality of life, meet new people, improve their skills and becoming more active through participation in martial arts and dance.

Funding was provided for instructor fees for a social inclusion project.

The funding will be used to run martial activities for children and young people. The project aims to give people from low income backgrounds the opportunity to learn new skills and also help integrate them in to the community.

To run an educational programme (dance, music, martial arts) for children (4 - 12) and young people (13 to 18) from disadvantaged backgrounds. The project will offer 70 hours of activity over 35 weeks and will engage 35+ young people.
