We have selected Improve Health and Wellbeing as a primary objective, but the Womens Empowerment Group aims to address all three of the proposed objectives, which are inter-related and support each other. Based on our previous experience, we expect to see outcomes in the following areas. Improved Physical health: Women who may have been isolated at home will benefit from taking part in gentle activity such as yoga and walking, and spending time out of doors. Women who have specific health needs will be encouraged and assisted to engage help, by referral to health professionals where appropriate. Improved Mental health: Physical activity can be beneficial to mental health, as can taking part in creative activities and spending time in a supportive environment with other people. Women with specific mental health issues will be encouraged and assisted to engage help, by referral to appropriate agencies. Improved General Wellbeing: Reduced isolation and loneliness, becoming part of a social group, feeling valued and loved Better coping strategies develop after discussing and reflecting on life issues and responses to them Maintain relationships better Improved confidence and self-esteem Satisfaction from creative activities and gaining new skills Reduced need to rely on alcohol or other substances
