TRINITY METHODIST CHURCH WOKING

Trinity is a welcoming church seeking to live in the love of God and share the message of Jesus Christ. Worship is at the centre and is open to all. Members engage in pastoral work, visiting the sick and elderly and the bereaved. Our premises provide accommodation for community groups and organisations. We seek to develop community within and beyond our church walls.

Evidence shows that peer-based approaches to ....more Young gay men + people at risk of HIV through heterosexual sex (including Black Africans) are less likely to know about PrEP + less likely to access it. Evidence shows that peer-based approaches to PrEP education is effective, highly acceptable, + often preferable to non-peer approaches, especially when those using PrEP provide information to potential PrEP beneficiaries. The Ask Me About PrEP (AMAP) programme will deliver 10 peer-based online training + empowerment events that will equip 150 peers of potential PrEP users to talk about PrEP + how to access it to 3000 peers. AMAP peers will be equipped with online (e.g. profile picture frames + media assets) + offline materials (e.g. AMAP tee-shirt, info cards) + referral links. PrEP peer diffusion models have not been formally piloted + evaluated before in the UK. Evaluation will explore the impact of this innovative peer-diffusion model, including the impact beyond the immediate peer circles, including uptake of PrEP, to inform future peer-diffusion activity.
