FOOTPRINTS PROJECT LIMITED

To support healthy eating courses, which take place bi-monthly for 40 weeks for up to 18 people who have been in prison. The participants can complete a Level 2 Food Hygiene course to help them gain work in the catering industry.

We will enable women to access individualised support to improve health and wellbeing through increased social capacity and capability, directly responding to Tampon Tax ambitions in terms of objectives and outcomes for women. Aims: To deliver a women offenders specific recovery and diversionary project designed and delivered by women. To increase access to specific support services available for female offenders attending court and resident in Hampshire. To reduce social isolation and reoffending by identifying and responding to gender specific criminogenic needs. Objectives: We will provide a holistic individualised resettlement and support plan. We will provide key worker contact and additional volunteer support on a 1:1 basis around the areas listed above. We will signpost and accompany women to specialist agencies and appointments. We will deliver practical support to ensure that their immediate needs are met including helping them access grants for clothing, distributing foodbank vouchers etc. INDIVIDUAL CHANGES Outcomes: Women offenders will have improved self-esteem, reduced stigmatisation which reduces isolation suffered. Women will have increased stability and a decreased likelihood of reoffending. Women will have reduced the threat of homelessness and extreme poverty due to help in securing and maintaining accommodation, volunteering and increasing employability. Mothers will establish positive relationships with their families and children. Women will be engaged with local GPs and mental health teams and are therefore able to access health care.
