We have an audience here who will benefit from this Winter Wellbeing program. An English class has been run at this time at Leeds Refugee Forum in the past and there has been a steady register of between 20 and 25 students. This group is currently not running so we would like to take this group and deliver our enhanced Winter Wellbeing program with food to them. Our venue, Leeds Refugee Forum has the benefit of being well connected with important agencies. Therefore, if necessary we can link people with LASSN, RETAS, PAPHRAS and British Red Cross. We can combat isolation, for example refer people to RETAS for advice on how to develop their skills and training that they have already. We can invite the police into our sessions (and have done so in the past) to help people deal with specific problems such as anti social behaviour which can lead to isolation. We will make sure our students are registered with their doctor and know where and how to access their flu jabs if required. And we will support people in a healthy lifestyle by sharing healthy and affordable food ideas for the winter and making these recipes together.
