WE ARE A COMMUNITY-LED CHARITY WORKING FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL IMPROVEMENTS WHICH BENEFIT THE PEOPLE OF HYNDBURN. OUR MISSION IS TO BE THE KEY MOVEMENT IN HYNDBURN FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY AND TO USE OUR COLLECTIVE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, WORK AND EXPERIENCE TO SECURE THIS FOR CURRENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS.

We will recruit 1 Countryside Ranger and 2 Trainees, a minimum of 12long-term volunteers and contribute towards retaining 1 existing member of staff and a number of externaltrainers.We will deliver 500 events involving members of the public to encourage local people to engage and enjoythe outdoors, embed an understanding of environmental issues and enable communities to create deep andmeaningful connections with the natural environment. We will improve access to a number of local nature areasand improve the habitats for plants and wildlife.The trainees and volunteers will be trained in a range of conservation management practices and in publicfacing skills which will give them a fulfilling and fun experience and skills which can be carried forward into futurejob opportunities. Local people will benefit from increased understanding, knowledge and confidence about theirlocal areas and be mindful of the extensive health and wellbeing benefits of spending time in nature.
