    TO PROMOTE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN AND AROUND NORTHUMBRIA POLICE FORCE AREA THE PROTECTION OF PEOPLE AND PROPERTY FROM AND THE PREVENTION OF CRIMINAL ACTS, IN PARTICULAR BY:- (I)ASSISTING IN THE ESTABLISHMENT OF INDIVIDUAL CRIME PREVENTION AND OTHER SUCH SCHEMES OF INITIATIVE INTENDED TO PREVENT AND ATTENUATE THE COMMISSION OF CRIMES AND ENCOURAGEMENT OF GREATER PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN THE PREVENTION AND SOLUTION OF CRIME. (II)RESEARCHING INTO NEW TECHNIQUES IN LOCAL CRIME PREVENTION AND PUBLISHING USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH. (III)THE PROVISION IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE OF RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND IN PARTICULAR THOSE PEOPLE AT RISK OF OFFENDING AGAINST THE LAW WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITION OF LIFE.
