This two-year project offers peer support and one to one mentoring for young carers who are turning 16 and leaving school in Great Yarmouth. The young carers have expressed their interest in continued support as they make the transition into adulthood and want to gain skills to set up their own adult carers group to support each other. It will work with the young carers and the local colleges to offer support groups. The project will provide opportunities for young carers to reduce their social isolation and pursue their educational ambitions. The young people’s committee will shape the project.
