The funding will be used to continue the Women’s Work Heart Project which supports women and their families in Derby who are in need of social emotional and practical support to enable them to build resilience and cope better with life challenges.Women with Multiple complex needs are supported by WW many of whom come from areas of high deprivation located in and around the city. Many of those helped are affected by issues including poor levels of mental and physical health high levels of DV/DA low employment levels low educational attainment and other issues such as addiction. ProposalThe group are asking for funding to support their core costs while they strengthen their delivery and sustainability. They aim to support 300 new women each year. Individuals referred to WW undergo an initial assessment which highlights their most urgent needs and then they will be referred into the relevant programme of activity. The content of the sessions delivered and the work done with individuals is based on the pathways model of support as a framework of delivery. Using the pathways and personalised action plans they explore overall confidence levels and coping strategies (resilience) in each area and agree targets with the individual and measure there improvements over time. Women’s Work provide a number of holistic services including-• Domestic abuse support via the Freedom programme• Sexual health advice and screening• Counselling• Back to work support • Mentoring• Volunteer development programmes• Basic life/ living skills• Mental health support• Advocacy• Parenting classes• Family contact sessions• Education classes• Therapeutic workshops • Food & clothing bank• Coffee mornings• Drop-in sessions where beneficiaries can meet with partner organisations in person• Outreach The group provide many of their programmes online as well as in person. They have recently moved into a new building in the centre oategic activities key to service continuity.
