This funding will develop the project to deliver gender-sensitive services, recognising that male and female victims have different experiences. The main aim of the project is still to use early crisis intervention to protect women and children at the point of separation from perpetrators, enabling them to remain in their homes (while the abuser leaves). This will be achieved through individually tailored support including risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy and emotional recovery work.
