The project uses evidence based therapeutic interventions as part of a personalised recovery action plan which operates in separate stages with First Steps, Smartstart and Next Steps offering different support to participants. An aftercare support service will also be available to provide transitional support for participants.

Moving On plans to address this gap by working in partnership with Access Technology Scotland to deliver a digital inclusion learning programme within Moving On’s training facilities. Access Technology Scotland will deliver two hour weekly learning sessions; one 1 hour group session followed by 1 hour one-to-one support, with access to free equipment to aid the learning process.

The grant will fund three new staff posts, sessional workers, venue hire, publicity costs, childcare costs, expenses, staff training, programme materials, IT equipment and overheads.

Objectives

To relieve the needs of people resident in Inverclyde who have a history of addiction and are now in recovery, and in particular (i) to provide the appropriate knowledge and skills for clients to move on to a stabilised and purposeful life in the community (ii) to enable clients to access opportunities for themselves within their community and (iii) to link up with existing treatment services, thus maximising benefits through a joined up service to clients.
