This two-year project provides weekly supportive psychotherapy group sessions for two groups of mothers from Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and refugee backgrounds in Haringey, London. It equips participants with the tools to address shared practical, social and psychological challenges, guided by an experienced facilitator. During each session, participants are supported to lead discussions and share their experiences and ideas, which shape the development of the project. The project reduces isolation and improves participants’ wellbeing by enabling them to develop a strong support network of women with shared experiences and challenges, and to feel more valued and active members of their community.
