NORTHERN HEARTLANDS

For three years (2017-20), Northern Heartlands was a ‘Great Place Scheme’ – delivering high quality arts, cultural and heritage events across south west County Durham as part of a £20m national programme funded through Arts Council England and The National Lottery Heritage Fund. We are now an independent Charitable Incorporated Organisation – based in Barnard Castle and continuing to support communities and organisations across County Durham and the North East. Our work is built on trust and our belief that communities working with creative practitioners can find their own answers to the issues we all face.
