We’ll provide a welcoming, well known and safe Cafe Connect drop in and one to one support service, 3 days a week at different times to maximise access, alongside attractive fun and empowering health and well being activities with a strong numeracy and conversational focus. We’ll provide IT, an allocated deskspace, and vital bilingual support in key community languages. Through sensitive listening and sharing, and building on our established and positive links with several learning providers, we’ll patiently build trust and confidence and get to the heart of the matter, barriers will be overcome, & residents learning interests identified and progressed – and our community strengthened.

It provides a safe and welcoming space in which women meet to share their stories and skills, improve wellbeing, build friendships and an increased sense of safety in the neighbourhood. The project is open to all women and particularly include older women, those from black and ethnic minority, refugee and migrant communities, and those experiencing social isolation and feeling bypassed by gentrification in the area. Participants help to organise and deliver the sessions and events and choose the project topics.

THE CHARITY'S OBJECTS ARE SPECIFICALLY RESTRICTED TO THE FOLLOWING: 1. THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CAPACITY, SKILLS AND LEADERSHIP ABILITIES OF MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY OF, PRINCIPALLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, TOTTENHAM AND OTHER SOCIAL AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED AREAS OF THE LONDON BOROUGH OF HARINGEY (THE 'AREA OF BENEFIT') BY PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES WHICH THEY WOULD OTHERWISE BE UNABLE TO ACCESS, IN ORDER TO WORK TOGETHER, LEARN BY EXPERIENCE AND RECOGNISE THEIR EXISTING SKILLS AS ASSETS, TO GAIN CONFIDENCE IN THEIR OWN ABILITIES AND, AS A RESULT, HELP IDENTIFY AND MEET THEIR NEEDS AND PARTICIPATE MORE FULLY IN SOCIETY. 2.
