This one-year project is for over 60’s from all backgrounds living in Hounslow, London. It aims to help participants develop a friendly local support network to combat depression and loneliness, which continues to rise with the increased ageing population and with the recent impact of Covid. It provides weekly free lunches and a range of activities, including seminars, playing games, singing songs, outings and topical seminars.

We are the only Centre in the borough providing them freshly cooked food according to their cultural and religious needs.

This project provided a lunch club for older people aged 60 and over in Hounslow that enabled them to meet and make new friends, discuss ideas, gain support from each other and create strong social connections in their local community. It provided fresh nutritional lunches one day per week in a friendly environment. Also, there were various activities such as games, singing, outings and topical seminars, which helped develop a friendly local support network. A steering group of participants and volunteers were responsible for ensuring the project was guided by participants.
