Interplay (Integrated Play & Leisure) in Swansea will re-establish their fortnightly face to face sessions for young people aged 18 to 25 with disabilities and mental health support needs. The sessions will enable them to build relationships while supporting them to increase their social skills learn from new experiences and gain independence. £10000 will fund support staff and resources. The project will support a minimum of 150 young disabled people aged 14-25 living in Swansea with their transition to adulthood. This will be achieved through a 'one stop shop' weekly drop-in group, ....more

The project will support a minimum of 150 young disabled people aged 14-25 living in Swansea with their transition to adulthood. This will be achieved through a 'one stop shop' weekly drop-in group, support in schools and through a team of transition key workers. The aim is to reduce isolation and increase their well-being by supporting them to make choices and achieve their future ambitions. The project will also seek to increase joined up working between existing services in order to improve access.

Interplay's Levelling the Playing Field Initiative will, over three years, provide inclusive leisure opportunities for disabled and non disabled young people aged 12-19 living throughout Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. 300 children and young people and 30 organisations will benefit from the project. The outcomes will enable disabled young people to participate in an integrated programme and encourage community groups to include disabled young people in mainstream activities.
