The scooters will provide independence and accessibility to affordable food and support groups helping to combat the Cost of Living Crisis. The Land working with Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham have received a £485861 grant over five years to support children young people and parents in the Plas Madoc area. They will build on their existing play and youth provision and extend their reach into the wider community. Activities will include play schemes and social and employment skills for young people. They will also support parents carers and families with parenting skills mental health support finance advice and education. The project is a partnership between the Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham (AVOW), Wrexham Glyndwr University and CAIS. It will empower people in recovery from drug and alcohol misuse to share and convey their experience through recovery radio. This will include drawing up action plans and increasing the committee skills of 600 individuals. 10 network events will be held to expand committee membersÂ’ knowledge and provide an opportunity to network. 11 sustainability champions will be identified and trained to mentor groups.

Association of Voluntary Organisations Wrexhan will deliver a portfolio of five projects over four years to increase opportunities for and the capacity of local people to engage in the planning and delivery of services that meet their needs. The projects will work with people who face barriers to participation. The development grant of £25,000 over 8 months will pay for a Portfolio Development Officer and administrative support to develop the stage two application.
