The funding will be used to deliver creative activities for a group of older people from the LGBTQ+ community which will explore different creative and artistic ways of expressing the experience of older LGBTQ+ individuals and celebrate both differences and commonalities with the wider community. The project aims to reduce isolation improve wellbeing and provide an opportunity to develop new skills.

The proposed focus of the 2020 fund is addressing inequalities in SH, RH and HIV health outcomes experienced by Black, Asian, and other minority ethnic (BAME) communities. The fund is open to charitable, voluntary sector and Community Interest Companies only.This year, PHE will welcome all innovative proposals and particularly those that:Offer innovative ways of addressing poor sexual and/or reproductive health and HIV in those communities most affected, with a particular focus on BAME communitiesDemonstrate how they will deliver their project in the context of covid-19 and potential disruption to contact with service users, colleagues, suppliers and partnersAddress stigma associated with sexual and reproductive health and HIV, promoting self-esteem and improved sexual and reproductive health wellbeingSupport the integration of HIV, STI prevention and/or Reproductive Health improvement into health promotion and service delivery in other health areasSupport increased knowledge, awareness and understanding of STI and HIV prevention strategies, including condoms, testing, and for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and treatment as prevention, especially in currently underserved populations (for example, specific BAME groups or people in secure settings)Promote accurate impartial information on pregnancy choicesConsider those outside metropolitan areas and how technology can reach those distanced from physical servicesWe are particularly interested in projects that address at least two out of the three domains: reproductive health, sexual health and HIV prevention.

Gay, bisexual and trans young people are at greater risk of depression, anxiety and suicide ideation than the wider population of young people. They often also face particular issues around body image. MESMAC's project will improve the mental wellbeing and resilience of GBT young men in Bradford, Leeds and Wakefield by offering direct therapeutic groups, building community capacity & resilience through community peer mentors. It will encourage group members into sports and physical activity by developing a buddying scheme to help them overcome the barriers to participation and working with sports clubs and facilities to help them be more GBT friendly.

Online booking has been shown to substantially increase levels of people booking HIV tests, Yorkshire MESMAC has recorded an increase of 57% since introducing it 2 years ago. This project will develop a new online booking system for use by voluntary sector HIV services in the UK. It will build on user experience of MESMAC's original product and produce a system with more advanced features including geolocation, online triage and better data collection. The product will be built by an experienced social developer under an Open Source license so other organisations can freely download, use and improve it either as a widget on their website or as a stand-alone local website.

A specialist hub support service for boys and girls and young men and women who are either at risk of or have been victims of child sexual exploitation (CSE). It will have a central hub in York city centre with three spoke workers in Scarborough and Ryedale, Harrogate and Selby and York. It is based on the existing service developed by the Child Sexual Exploitation Funder's Alliance and focuses on reducing the risk of CSE and improving people's safety, health and life chances.
