1. Build skills and confidence - We will be working on a number of workshops to build on the skills and confidence of the girls. These will include effective communication, social conduct, team work skills, self acceptance and body image, peer support, listening skills and speaking in groups. 2. Improve health and well-being - The workshops and programme content for this will include healthy relationships and what is acceptable, mental health and coping mechanisms, dealing with emotions, bullying and its implications, alcohol and drug misuse and the effects on your body, positive and negative lifestyle choices and the effects of these, sexual health and physical activity. 3. Build social networks for women and girls - By being part of the programme these young women/girls will be building on their social networks and be signposted to other activities in the local area to encourage them to continue to build and make friendships outwith the programme. These objectives and outcomes we will deliver will make a positive impact in the lives of the young women and girls attending. Not only will they learn life skills, they will gain accreditation while doing the programme, they will make new relationships reducing loneliness and isolation, feel more positive about themselves and the issues they face and have the coping mechanisms to work through life issues.

Building on the success of healthy eating healthy lifestyles for the children and young people. This project will promote, healthy eating & lifestyle choices alongside a keep fit programme and will instil in them the long term benefits of this to parents and the general adult population of Shettleston and the surrounding area. The project will organise weekly cooking and fitness classes for the adults in order for them to gain new skills as well as benefiting from the knowledge gained by learning about a healthy lifestyle. The cooking classes will involve the parents / adults choosing what they cook and they will use the Internet to find the recipes and explore what is in the food they eat as part of this process. They will be tasked with sourcing the food from local shops and costing the items to get the best deal possible. The food required and the residual benefits from it will form an integral part of the learning process for them as well as making them aware of what they are putting in their bodies at the moment and what effect this is having on their weight etc. This will be a weekly session held on various days in order to fit in with parents / adults work & family commitments every week for a year. Alongside the healthy eating will be a session for them to keep fit with a fun keep fit session and will include various keep fit activities to complement their improved diet. We will run this for 6 months.
