This group will use funding to continue their young person’s befriending project which will now be expanded to include children aged 5 years and upwards. Volunteer befrienders will be given bespoke training to support their children and young people (5-24 years old) with tailored support enable greater participation and independence. This three-year project will work with 35 children and young people (YP) and 35 befrienders employing a ‘goal-orientated’ approach where participants will work towards self-designed personal achievements.

The project will provide one to one befriending telephone befriending group befriending activity groups and lunch clubs for people aged 60 and over. In year 2 facilitated friendships will be offered to people under 60 experiencing isolation and loneliness. This two-year grant will support 220 people and 60 volunteers.
