15 women will increase their skills and confidence. They will evidence a greater understanding of their role in civic society, feel more confident with regards engaging in local decision making processes and feel able to work towards realising their full potential and improve their livelihoods 15 women will evidence improved health and wellbeing. Having opportunities to participate in this project and develop their confidence will undoubtedly have a positive impact on emotional health and wellbeing. Participant's self esteem / self worth will be developed with women designing and developing their own booklet which will be comprised of their own testimonies, articles, poems and artistic designs. Attending the weekly structured sessions and meeting up with other like-minded people who live in difficult circumstances will provide opportunities to build social networks for women living in Stockton. A number of agreed workshops will also widen social networks with women increasing their knowledge and confidence enabling them to access other initiatives in the community. The project will provide opportunities to get involved with a number of community initiatives throughout the year. We will facilitate a number of events on market day to raise awareness of the issues faced by women living in the community. The project will link up with local ward councillors, other voluntary groups and statutory organisations to raise awareness of: Universal Credit; Additional Costs Associated with the School Day; Hunger campaigns and Tampax Tax Women participating in the project will work together to design and develop a launch event. These planning meetings will provide opportunities to develop relationships with other community members and stakeholders
