The funding will be used to employ a part-time Family Worker to recruit and oversee their team of volunteers. This will also enable them to expand their current services groups and activities for more vulnerable local families and provide signposting to support services. The aim of the project is to support families out of the pandemic to provide friendships and networks reduce isolation and improve wellbeing.

"The fund aims to:1) To reduce closures of essential charities that provide essential services to vulnerable groups during the COVID-19 crisis by ensuring they have the financial resources to operate, thereby reducing the burden on public services.2) To ensure essential services are provided to vulnerable people, both in the short and long term through increased community support through the work of charitable organisations."

Holy Trinity Outreach Project is for Blacon residents, offering The Meeting Place community café, and various groups, also Playtots providing lunch and playtime for parents and toddlers. The Transgenerational Links project aims to build strong relationships between users of the project, and others in the community, across the generations, so that elderly people who attend the café and groups on a Thursday will form relationships with preschool children and their parents or carers who come to Playtots; additionally, arrangements will be made for residents of a local care home to come to Playtots, and for pupils of a local school to come to the Meeting Place café. In forming community through new relationships, health and wellbeing will be improved for all users who live in this deprived area, by addressing loneliness and isolation both for the elderly users, and also parents and carers of children; but also for the children in learning from and relating to an older generation. The grant will fund the Outreach Worker, who will oversee the whole project; a driver for the minibus, and minibus costs, resources for Playtots, and new chairs for the cafe.
