The funding will enable the organisation to continue providing support services through a period of transition in the community and help alleviate loneliness and isolation. The period of transition in the community will see the completion of a new community hall and health care centre on the same site integrating MAYFACS and a hub facility. MAYFACS will be an integral part of the development (a Parish Council & District Council Initiative) - the development will benefit the whole community. MAYFACS is a CIO that promotes community-based services and support for the whole community who live in the Parish of Mayfield and Five Ashes and its surrounding area within East Sussex to assist in combatting loneliness and isolation and to promote general heath improvement and sustain quality of life. Their normal activities range from a toddler group to outings matinee film screenings talks tea and cake befriending community transport transport to medical appointments sign posting to other services/support information centre and life stories projects with the elderly and secondary school pupils.

We'd like to equip and run the MAYFACS shed for the harder to reach section of our community, so they have a space to socialise and share skills with one another.

Mayfield & Five Ashes Community Services promote community based services and support for people living in their parish, focussing on combatting loneliness and isolation. Funding is for staff costs of their covid 19 support, including prescription collection, shopping delivery and befriending service. It is also for post lockdown volunteer training and to run a community transport scheme.

Funding was provided to support electrical improvements and project management time related to setting up a new community space.
