CHESTER PRIDE

Chester Pride provisions an LGBTQ community festival, an LGBTQ support helpline, social and support groups, and LGBTQ library, provision of free sexual and menstrual products, and undertakes various other works to address key issues the LGBTQ communities of Cheshire and North Wales face. We aim to end discrimination against LGBTQ people, and build inclusivity for them across our area of operation.

We will ensure the community remains strong ....more Chester Pride supports the LGBT+ community by providing or promoting access to relevant and tailored support that caters for their specific requirements. We will ensure the community remains strong and feels connected to each other through weekly digital events online, and we have moved our Just Ask support service online where we continue to receive daily messages for support on a wide range of issues. The grant funding will go toward staff and charity overheads to ensure proper case and volunteer management, and to enable advertising and messaging to spread the reach of the project to raise awareness across the community, as well as some minor equipment of software costs, and volunteer expenses in delivering targeted individual support. This project will ensure the the LGBT+ community continues to feel cohesive and supported, as often the community is a replacement family for those who have been rejected by their own, but it will also do vital work in providing or facilitating access to targeted LGBT+ inclusive support as often members of the LGBT+ community are scared to access statutory or support services as they fear discrimination or lack of understanding. Our involvement means they get the appropriate and inclusive help needed
