This one-year project aimed to build on an existing art group for residents of different areas of County Durham who were unemployed and experienced mental health issues. The initial group was set up using funding from the Trust and participants wanted to expand the group membership and form their own independent, sustainable art group. The project provided weekly creative activities that also built skills to enable the group to become independent and sustainable. Members took part in reviews of the project progress to shape the activities. The project supported participants to make strong social links and to build skills to take control of the project going forward.
