Positive mental health and wellbeing is big news. Put simply its about feeling good and doing well in our day-to-day life. There are lots of things that can impact on this, affecting what we do, how we feel, the way we think and cope with situations and decisions. Everyday issues have a part to play too like health, home life, loneliness, money worries, lifestyle, where we live, how we feel in ourselves and larger concerns like anxiety/ depression, bereavement, disability needs/long-term conditions. We want to support women to come together, talk about the issues they face, helping each other to begin to tackle them. Together we will design and create groups to share experiences, helping each other to begin feeling less alone, overwhelmed, on the way to bouncing back when things get tough. Held across our community garden sites these groups are a fun, relaxed opportunity to have some social time with others in a similar situation, share common experiences, access information on relevant specialist services to help along the journey.Built around Sandwells 6 ways to wellbeing, women can meet up, give and receive support, be in control, make decisions about what works best, choosing from activities such as:- fun group-led sessions/events, cuppa and chat- get active hands on gardening, cooking, craft workshopsCant come to us Well come to you! We will work together with group members to find community places to suit them, working towards everyone feeling themselves, better connected and happier in the longer-term.
