Grant criteria

GMCVO works to achieve economic and social inclusion in Greater Manchester through collaborations and supporting others We provide projects, services and support to enable citizen-led VCSE organisations to play a full and equal part in the development and governance of the Greater Manchester city region. We support and connect individuals who act as VCSE representatives at GM boards and forums and enable people with shared interests to come together and have their voices heard. We act as lead and accountable body for partnerships and funding streams. Our practical services include news, events, policy and research. Our subsidiary companies provide a conference centre and social investment.

Who do we work with? We are only one player alongside many others. We function as a centre for voluntary organisation and a reference point for a web of contacts, networks, partnerships and initiatives operating at every scale across the city region and beyond. We prioritise partnership with Greater Manchester institutions regardless of sector. We are the lead body or host for a range of VCSE-led partnerships and networks including Ambition for Ageing, Volunteering GM, GM BME Network and BME Leaders Group, GM Social Enterprise Network, GM Social Investment, GM VCSE Assembly and GM Third Sector Research. We are members of the GM VCSE Leadership Group, GM Poverty Action, GM Social Value Forum, GM Futures and the national Voluntary Sector Core Cities group.
