A minimum of 10 women over a 15-month period will be supported to set-up and develop their own businesses. This will be achieved by providing a Business Incubator Hub for our graduate students as they move forward with their enterprise aspirations. Unlike standard business start-up support, we will offer fully equipped facilities with industrial machines and associated technology for creative industry in textiles. Women will have the opportunity to design, develop and manufacture products/product lines or respond to the commissions secured by ReTweed on their behalf; providing essential initial income to support their businesses to evolve. Applying SMART objectives we will provide a 6-month women into creative enterprise programme of workshops, training and 1:1 support for 10 women facing poverty and disadvantage - incorporating: 1. Health, Wellbeing and Personal Development 2. Personalised Action Plans & Outline Business Planning 3. Bookeeping 4. Social Media/Marketing 5. Retail and Sales 6. Women In Leadership 7. Communication/Presentation/Negotiation Skills 8. Support, guidance, advice and mentoring to help them maintain the momentum and achieve success 9. Access to relevant training (some delivered in partnership with Business Gateway) accredited training e.g. Communication Skills, Health & Safety, First Aid etc. This programme will prioritise ReTweed graduates with a genuine interest in developing their own creative businesses. 10 women will gain skills, knowledge, confidence, motivation, learning and signposting to help them set-up and grow their business 10 women will have direct access to the business incubator hub along with 1:1 mentoring, guidance advice and practical manufacturing experience. A minimum of 6 women will establish their enterprises. An additional 4 women will be on the path to enterprise This project will strengthen the local economy; showcasing womens enterpriseas a positive contributor to economic prosperity and raising enterprise aspirations for the whole area.
